About Patrick

Patrick Ng is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

He brings over 13 years of frontline experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic with British Columbia Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), where he witnessed firsthand the mental health challenges faced by first responders. This lived experience informs his commitment to providing meaningful, culturally informed support to first responders and others in high-stress caregiving roles.

Patrick offers individual counselling online and works from a collaborative, client-centered foundation. His approach is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to learn skills that support emotional well-being and create meaningful change. He is practical and approachable, creating a space where clients can be themselves, speak honestly, and explore frustrations without fear of judgment. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, he focuses on developing practical skills through mindfulness to increase emotional awareness, identify unhelpful patterns, and respond in ways that better support well-being and personal goals.

With his background as a paramedic, Patrick is especially attuned to the stressors and realities of frontline work. While he understands the culture and challenges of this environment, he also recognizes that each person's experience is unique. This shared understanding helps create a foundation for meaningful therapeutic work and allows clients to focus on growth and recovery.

Outside of work, Patrick enjoys cooking and spending time with family, friends and cat.
